Piece from the Pathways & Precipices ~ An Artist’s Return to Awe and Wonder Series inspired by experiences and transformations from Bandelier National Monument Artist Residency for month of November 2022.

The pueblo ruins on Tsankawi are unexcavated per the Tewa Pueblos’ wishes. Visitors are asked not to move anything, however, at the site of the village on the mesa top there is a collection of pottery shards which hikers have clearly found and gathered there. The reflective patterns in the shards provide our current reflection on these ancient shards and the impressions of current footprints lies to them.
