This painting was inspired by a game-camera photo a friend provided me as reference material.  I used the reference for the attentive gesture of this red fox which I set in a snowy landscape.  This painting emerged from several layers of underpainting to set the mood, then layers of acrylic paint and acrylic pen and gel to separate the layers to create visual depth.
