“Pathways & Precipices ~ An Artist’s Return to Awe and Wonder” catalogues and provides a visual and written testimony of the transformative experiences and artwork of the Artist based on a one month Artist Residency at Bandelier National Monument in Los Alamos, New Mexico. Over twenty-five pieces were initiated during the residency and for the following fifteen months the total body of work inspired by the experience grew to over fifty pieces. The entire collection is featured with written amplification of each piece’s story as well as sharing details on inspirations, techniques, and take aways across the body of work.

The artist, Robyn Ryan, is a native of Virginia and is known for her animal and nature related subject matter. Her artwork is characterized by use of color, texture, and physical dimensionality. She use water-based and mixed media in her paintings and works in oil-based clay for casting bronze editions. Robyn is drawn to the tactile aspects of the media, building layers and physical textures, marrying diverse materials, and creating three dimensional pieces.
