I came across this view on the Tyuonyi Overlook Trail looking back towards the canyon on the return loop of my first hike alone outside the main Pueblo Loop Trail. It was mid-late afternoon, so the angle of the light was lowering. I encountered only one person on the trail, otherwise I had it to myself along with several birds and mule deer I encountered. I also encountered ruins along the way on mesa level which were fascinating. The overlook provides a view of the Tyuonyi ruins below, the entire Frey trail below and my favorite outcropping from above… On the way back from the overlook I took the loop toward the canyon rim to take my initial precipice pictures. I was drawn to the GLOW of the backlight, the breeze dancing in the grasses, the birdsong… it was magical!
