Piece from the Pathways & Precipices ~ An Artist’s Return to Awe and Wonder Series inspired by experiences and transformations from Bandelier National Monument Artist Residency for month of November 2022.

I SAW HIM! An actual sighting of a coyote there amongst the dead fall and “pick up stick” debris from wildfires at Valles Caldera. I fumbled for my camera as I watched him trot through the debris, then he was gone. I can see him in my mind’s eye even now. To celebrate that sighting this piece captures his ghost-like presence, based roughly on a reference photograph by Moni Charllett Sternals via Pixabay, amongst the fallen and burned trees.
