Piece from the Pathways & Precipices ~ An Artist’s Return to Awe and Wonder Series inspired by experiences and transformations from Bandelier National Monument Artist Residency for month of November 2022.

The Frey Trail consists of several switchbacks from the mesa down to the canyon floor. Switchback by switchback I conquered my fears of precipices over several attempts. Finally, I made it all the way up with the help of my walking sticks for balance and the Holy Spirit as my cheer leader and companion. For this piece I was drawn to the glow of the rocks, the subtle colors, and the progressively breathtaking and dramatic views.
