Piece from the Pathways & Precipices ~ An Artist’s Return to Awe and Wonder Series inspired by experiences and transformations from Bandelier National Monument Artist Residency for month of November 2022.

The canyon itself had a wide variety of vegetation. Often muted, there was a large variety of colors displayed in the plants, especially as the light changed. This piece focuses on capturing the magical transition between the cool tones where the shadow of the south rim covers the plant while the tops are still highlighted with the warm glow of the low angled afternoon sun.
