Piece from the Pathways & Precipices ~ An Artist’s Return to Awe and Wonder Series inspired by experiences and transformations from Bandelier National Monument Artist Residency for month of November 2022.

During my mixed media demonstration, I shared several stamps and stamped papers I created during the residency of petroglyphs I found at Long House. I used those papers as the under-painting for this north canyon wall and cavates painting. I let the petroglyph stamped papers initiate textures and inspire later layers. I used the acrylic gel and embossed it with the shield stamp which is subtly visible across the painting.
