Piece from the Pathways & Precipices ~ An Artist’s Return to Awe and Wonder Series inspired by experiences and transformations from Bandelier National Monument Artist Residency for month of November 2022.

This piece is also inspired from the Falls Trail hike with all its challenges and victories as part of the same story. This view is 180 degrees from the prior piece with my back towards the Rio Grande River looking back up the canyon where Frijoles creek tumbles over the basalt walls of the lower canyon making its way to the Rio Grande River in White Rock Canyon. I was drawn to the stark and intense morning light hitting the falls and creek below. This view captures the height and depth of the canyon which makes moving past the precipice fear such a victory.
