Piece from the Pathways & Precipices ~ An Artist’s Return to Awe and Wonder Series inspired by experiences and transformations from Bandelier National Monument Artist Residency for month of November 2022.

The accessibility of these ancient dwellings has always captivated me, these excavated caves provided both storage and living spaces. I chose the interior of an extensive cavate as my subject to demonstrate my mixed media collage technique. The collaged papers provided unique texture to the cavate surfaces. The details were added using acrylic paint on top of the collage under-painting.
